The ArtPakk is a sustainable replacement for bubble wrap, cutting down wrapping and unwrapping times considerably. For shipping purposes artwork can be put into an ArtPakk then boxed, using the ArtPakk inside the box controls temperature shock from cold to warm environments.
This reusable art packaging is very strong and can be used over and over again.
The bags are made up of 3 different layers bonded together, giving a total of a 6mm consistent protective material.
The middle layer of the bag has a cushioning effect that recovers after pressure. This material is also very strong whilst being very light weight.
The edges are sewn together with strong fabric bindings; this prevents the sides from splitting or the edges of the art works piercing through.
There is no need for blue edging to protect the edges of your art from knocks, we do recommend extra cushioning on corners of plexiglass mounted or Perspex bonded artworks.
The bags have been tested to hold up to 50kg of weight.
The middle lining of the art bag is actually waterproof; water will run off the material. This added together with the outer and inner linings makes the bag water resistant as the bindings are sewn.
The middle layer has the properties to keep the contents warm or cold. This makes the art bag the perfect solution for storing artworks in temperature-controlled rooms. This will keep the art at an even temperature, something that can be harmful to certain types of art mediums.
Both the fabrics used in the bags are non-toxic and are recyclable materials.
Using these bags not only saves time but also rolls of unwanted bubble wrap being used and discarded after one use. The bags are easy to use over and over again which offers a more eco-friendly alternative.
Constant use of this material is not only harmless to your health, but it does not pollute the environment neither in production nor use. The bags are reusable to protect your artwork and the environment.
The bags have a stitched Velcro seal on the inside of the flap. This makes it easy to re seal again and again.
No need to use tapes that stick to the bags and leave a residue and look untidy.
The inner and outer layers of the bags are made up of polypropylene, which is a nontoxic, lightweight fabric with ph. neutral properties. This is important for the long-term protection of storing art. The lining is mold repellent, another factor that in time can damage art. When shipping artworks the water resistant and mold repellent properties are very important, water damage is irreversible on most art.
The fabric is breathable, soft and exceptionally strong. It has excellent filtration properties which makes it moisture resistant, whilst also being resistant to chemical attacks.
Moisture Absorbency – ArtPAKK shows an 80% absorbency rate in test results
Smart Testing – Metals The material has been tested against Copper, Silver, Mild Steel and Lead at a humidity rate of 60% and a temperature of 30 degrees centigrade. The results showed no apparent deterioration in all metals except silver. This is a strong factor in the product due to the anti-bacterial properties in the material, If this is a concern for certain types of art we recommend that they are stored in temperature controlled environments.
The art bags can act as a cushion if you keep the air in when sealed, this is great for protecting artworks on top of each other in the car for example, or if you push the air out before sealing, the ArtPakk acts as a vacuum, this allows maximum room for storage or for packing into a crate.
By Road - When using specified art removal vans or car deliveries, artwork and frames can be wrapped solely into an artPAKK.
Crating - We recommend that the artPAKK replaces the bubble wrap inside the crate or box, to help control the shock factor from the artworks encountering different changes in temperatures and humidity.
How to calculate the required artPAKK size…
To find the minimum length of bag required: artwork length + (artwork depth x 2)
To find the minimum width of bag required: artwork width + (artwork depth x 2)
Example: Length 100cm x Width 60cm x Depth 4cm
Bag Size Calculation:
100cm + (4cm x 2) = 108cm
60cm + (4cm x 2) = 68cm
Fit to artPAKK size AP05, 112cm x 86cm
